   PERSONAL STATEMENT

Dr. John de Perczel is a Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon. He has practiced in Catawba County since 1980. He is a founding partner of Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists.

Dr. de Perczel has extensive experience in total joint replacement of the hip and knee. He recently attended a three-day seminar in New York City on the latest developments in hip and knee replacement. He learned the latest techniques in controlling post-surgical pain, which has enabled his patients to leave the hospital sooner and with much less postoperative pain. "With these newer drug regimens for pain control, the improvement in surgical pain has been dramatic," has been his experience.

Dr. de Perczel has extensive experience in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, as well as musculoskeletal conditions of the upper and lower extremities and the spine. He also attended a three-day seminar on the treatment of fractures in the elderly at the University of Rochester, New York. He learned the latest techniques of fracture management in the elderly who have weak, osteoporotic bone and require specialized treatment methods.
