  PERSONAL STATEMENT

 Dr. Robert Liljeberg has been practicing orthopaedic surgery in Hickory, North Carolina with a focus in sports medicine and total joint replacements since 1994. Dr. Liljeberg is the team physician for Lenoir Rhyne College, the director of Catawba Valley Medical Center Sports Medicine program, and provides care for many of the Catawba County high school athletes. Besides having a keen interest in sports-related injuries, as well as enhancing performance, Dr. Liljeberg focuses on innovative minimally invasive total joint replacement techniques.

Most recently, Dr. Liljeberg has mastered arthroscopic repair of rotator cuff tears, arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstructions, as well as minimally invasive total hip and knee replacements. These techniques offer a less invasive approach to maximize recovery to minimize postoperative pain and maximize functional recovery.

Dr. Robert Liljeberg is a native of New Orleans Louisiana. He graduated from Tulane
University and Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans then completed his orthopaedic residency at Campbell Clinic in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Liljeberg then did a 12 months sports medicine fellowship at Tulane Medical Center before coming to Hickory in 1994.Contact Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists for an office consultation.
