Carson Finney, PA-C, ATC

Carson Finney is a nationally certified physician’s assistant  (PA) and has worked at Carolina Orthopaedics since 2002. His educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in athletic training/sports medicine obtained at Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1999. After graduation, he worked as an intern athletic trainer at the University of the South in Sewanee, TN. From this occupation, he went on to attend and graduate from the University of Florida with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies in 2002. He has a specific interest in sports medicine, however, his scope of practice encompasses orthopaedics in general.

Practicing as a PA with Dr. Robert Liljeberg, he routinely sees a full clinic daily. Carson sees patients daily at our Mt. View and Newton offices. During surgery, he participates as first surgical assistant and completes daily rounds on patients confined to the hospital.

Christopher Miles, PA-C

Christopher Miles graduated Cum Laude from the Physician Assistant Training Program at Ohio’s Kettering College of Medicine in 1996. After completing PA school, he completed a fellowship in Emergency Medicine in Xenia, Ohio followed by a fellowship in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Battle Creek, Michigan. Chris became nationally certified in 1996, receiving gold seal recognition for outstanding merit in both General Medicine and Surgery. Chris joined Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists in October 2005 and is currently practicing with Dr. John de Perzcel, seeing patients in the clinical setting as well as first assisting in surgery.

Chris Miles was a double major in his undergraduate studies in Chemistry and Biology. He was also a medical specialist in the United States Army, receiving a Combat Medical Badge for his actions in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.

Chris’ interests include sports, music and his family. He has been married to his wife Christina since 1989 and has two daughters, Kailyn and Kennadi. He is very involved in amateur motocross and frequently provides

Jason Phillis, PA-C

Jason Phillis is a board certified physician assistant (PA-C) and has worked at Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists since 2001.  After completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Medicine from Marietta College (Marietta, Ohio)in 1996, he then attended Midwestern University (Downer's Grove, Illinois) and graduated with his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies degree in 1998.  After graduation from PA school, Mr. Phillis worked with a solo orthopaedic surgeon for three years before joining COS in 2001.

Mr. Phillis works directly with Dr. Donald Campbell at all times while often seeing a full clinic daily, first assisting in surgery, sharing on-call duties, and rounding on inpatients.  He has special interest in joint replacement, sports medicine, and osteoporosis management.

Mark Marshall, PA-C

Mark Marshall is a nationally certified Physician Assistant and the newest member of Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists. Before joining our group in January 2007, Mark worked as a physician assistant with the Duke University Healthcare System for nine years. He completed his education at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania in 2007. Mark is a member of our orthopedic spine team, where he primarily assists Dr. Ralph Maxy in both office and hospital settings.

He sees clinic patients in our Mt. View, Morganton and Lenoir offices. He can also be found rounding on patients in the operating rooms at Catawba Valley Medical Center and Frye Regional Medical Center.

Scott Fox, PA-C

Scott Fox is a nationally certified Physician Assistant who works at Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists’ Lenoir Office. Additionally, he is a Registered Pharmacist. He completed his Pharmacy degree at the University of North Carolina and later attended East Carolina University where he completed his degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Scott is a lifelong resident on Caldwell County.

Scott assists both Dr. Keverline and Dr. Stanislaw, caring for patients in the clinic, as well as in the hospital.

Susanne Wise, PA

Susanne Wise is a nationally certified physician assistant
(PA-C) and began working at Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists in 2007 after graduating with a Masters of Physician Assistant Sciences from Saint Francis University in Loretto, PA. She works with Dr. Stephen Sladicka in the Taylorsville and Hickory offices and assists him in surgery.

Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Susanne spent over 15 years working in the entertainment industry, working in theatre and television. She earned her bachelor's degree from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Originally from Charlotte, Ms Wise spends her free time in the NC mountains and can be found on winter weekends as a volunteer ski patroller.
