The Region's Most Preferred Orthopaedic Practice
As leaders in the field of orthopaedics, our entire team of surgeons, doctors, physician assistants, and additional providers is dedicated to providing patients with the compassionate, world-class care they deserve and need—allowing them to emerge stronger.
Founded in 1999, EmergeOrtho: Foothills Region was created when Catawba Orthopaedic Specialists, Burke Orthopaedic Associates, and Caldwell Orthopaedic Associates merged together to form the Unifour's largest orthopaedic practice. In 2016, we merged again to become part of EmergeOrtho—one of North Carolina's largest orthopaedic practices focused on providing patient-centered care.
Since our founding date, we have grown to offer state-of-the-art bone, joint, and muscle care at eight offices throughout North Carolina—our offices include Granite Falls, Hickory, Lenoir, Marion (AccessOrtho Only), Morganton, Newton, Taylorsville, and Valdese. Our growth has also allowed us the ability to offer comprehensive, on-site services, from X-rays and physical therapy to a pain management clinic and a sports injury clinic. In addition to our other services, we also offer patients immediate orthopaedic care through our AccessOrtho walk-in clinics. Our urgent care clinics were designed to meet the urgent orthopaedic needs of our patients by promptly treating musculoskeletal system injuries, like fractures, ankle sprains, and sports-related injuries.
Even though we have grown significantly since our opening, our focus has always remained the same—provide our patients with the world-class musculoskeletal care they need to emerge stronger, healthier, and better.
World-Class Care Begins Here
Specializing in 17 different areas within the field of orthopaedics, including trauma, sports medicine, and joint replacement, our doctors and surgeons are dedicated to providing patients with the highest level of surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for bone, joint, tendon, ligament, and muscle injuries and conditions.
From the ankle to the knee, the hip to the elbow, and all the way down the spine, our doctors are experts in diagnosing and treating orthopaedic injuries and conditions, including joint pain, spine deformities, and arthritis of the knee and hip joints. All of our providers are board-certified or specialty-trained and have undergone extensive training in the field of orthopaedics. They are also dedicated to working together as a team to create individualized treatment plans that meet your individual needs.
When it comes to creating a treatment plan right for you, our orthopaedic surgeons and doctors, from our trauma specialists to our spine surgeons, try conservative, nonsurgical treatment options first before surgery. If surgery is required, rest assured that our surgeons have undergone extensive training in orthopaedic surgery. They are also highly skilled in the latest and most advanced orthopaedic surgeries and techniques, including minimally invasive surgery and arthroscopic surgery.
In addition to providing advanced musculoskeletal care, our orthopaedic surgeons and doctors are also dedicated to staying involved in our communities. We proudly provide sports medicine care to schools in Burke, Catawba, and Caldwell counties as well as for local colleges.
