Nerve Conduction Studies

You are here

Traditionally performed with electromyography, or EMG, by a pain management doctor or physiatrist, a nerve conduction study tests the responsiveness of specific nerves while recording their ability to send impulses to muscles. This study can help show where there are nerve blockages, find and evaluate damaged nerves, diagnose disorders, or locate abnormal sensations, such as tingling or pain.

At EmergeOrtho: Foothills Region, our nerve conduction studies are performed at our Hickory, Lenoir, and Morganton locations. For more information, please call (828) 324-2800 or request an appointment online. For directions to one of our practice locations, please use the button below.
